Baumpflege am Ufer des Karl-Heine-Kanals
Am Ufer des Karl-Heine-Kanals starten in der nächsten Woche umfangreiche Baumpflegearbeiten. Die bis Ende Februar geplanten Maßnahmen im Bereich zwischen Nonnenstraße und Lützner Straße erfolgen abschnittsweise und dienen der Verkehrssicherheit für den Fuß-, Rad-, Straßen- und Bootsverkehr. Zudem werden stabile und gesunde Baumbestände gefördert und langfristig erhalten. Die Stadt Leipzig bittet um Verständnis für temporäre Einschränkungen an den betroffenen Wegen.
Im Zuge der Pflege werden an zahlreichen Bäumen abgestorbene oder geschädigte Äste entfernt sowie Kronen eingekürzt. Außerdem werden Aufwuchs und Bäume entfernt, wo dies aus Gründen der Verkehrssicherheit oder zur Entwicklung des Bestandes erforderlich ist. Das Schnittgut wird teilweise über den Karl-Heine-Kanal auf dem Wasser per Boot abtransportiert. Die Arbeiten berücksichtigen die Belange des Naturschutzes und erfolgen außerhalb der Brut- und Setzzeit. +++
