Leipzig – Brooklyn – Schweiz: Die Comiczeichnerin Anna Haifisch vereint die Stationen ihres Lebens in ihrem Zeichenwerk. Das Anarchisch-Bunte der US-amerikanischen Kunst findet seinen Platz ebenso wie das vermeintlich Einfache der Appenzeller Bauernmalerei. Mit Oberbürgermeister Burkhard Jung spricht sie im Podcast „Leipzig und Leute“ über ihre Kunst, die Stadt und ihre Kreativszene.
Die Tragik zieht sich durch ihr Werk, auch das Scheitern. Wobei sie das Wort nicht mag. „Misslingen“ ist ihr lieber. Sie mag die Melancholie und das Drama, „da liegt ganz viel Humor“, sagt die 1986 in Leipzig Geborene im Gespräch mit Oberbürgermeister Jung.
Ausgebildet an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst (HGB) vermisst sie im heutigen Leipzig die Freiräume und das Spontane. Leipzig sei ein „richtiges Nest“ für die Kreativen, zugleich sorgt sie sich um die Zukunft der Szene. „Künstlerinnen und Künstler sind ja auch wahnsinnig harmlos“ wenn es ums Geld gehe, gesteht sie im Gespräch. „Also wenn Räume fehlen und das Geld, dann ist eigentlich Pumpe.“ Kürzungen bei den Förderungen hätten „verheerende Auswirkungen“.
