Leipzig bleibt attraktiver Wirtschaftsstandort – doch Handlungsbedarf wächst
Leipzigs gewerbliche Kammern präsentieren gemeinsam mit der Stadt Leipzig Standortanalyse 2025
Leipzig, 18. August 2025 – Leipzig zählt weiterhin zu den attraktivsten Wirtschaftsstandorten Deutschlands und ist interessant für Investoren aus dem In- und Ausland. Die aktuelle Standortbefragung von Industrie- und Handelskammer (IHK) zu Leipzig und Handwerkskammer zu Leipzig – an der sich 291 Mitgliedsunternehmen aus allen Branchen beteiligt haben, zeigt jedoch: Die Bewertung fällt kritischer aus als zur letzten Umfrage.
2025 bewerten nur noch 7 Prozent der Unternehmen den Standort mit „sehr gut“. Im Jahr 2019 waren es noch 15 Prozent. Auch der Anteil der „gut“-Bewertungen ist drastisch von 69 auf 46 Prozent zurückgegangen.
Wichtige Standortfaktoren unter Druck
Einzelne Standortfaktoren haben sich gegenüber der letzten Umfrage 2019 spürbar verschlechtert. Das betrifft besonders den Bereich der Verwaltungsprozesse, das Thema innerstädtischer Verkehr sowie das Niveau der Energiepreise, Gebühren, Abgaben und Steuern.
„Zwar sind Leipzigs kulturelle Vielfalt, das lebendige Zentrum und die hohe Lebensqualität wertvolle Standortvorteile – für Unternehmen ebenso wie für Fachkräfte“, betont Kristian Kirpal, Präsident der IHK zu Leipzig. „Doch diese Attraktivität will finanziert sein – und das Geld dafür erwirtschaften in erster Linie unsere Unternehmen und ihre Beschäftigten. Attraktive Standortbedingungen sind die Grundlage für eine starke Wirtschaft. Und dazu müssen die Kosten für Unternehmen gesenkt werden, unnötige Bürokratie abgebaut und Bearbeitungs- sowie Genehmigungszeiten verkürzt werden.“
„Die wiederkehrenden Diskussionen über den Verkehrsfluss in der Stadt Leipzig spiegeln auch unsere Befragungsergebnisse wider“, so der Präsident der Handwerkskammer zu Leipzig, Matthias Forßbohm. Insbesondere beim innerstädtischen Verkehr und bei der Verfügbarkeit von Parkplätzen und Anlieferzonen sehe man besonders die Diskrepanz zwischen der Zufriedenheit mit der aktuellen Lage und der Relevanz dieser Faktoren für die Ausübung handwerklicher Tätigkeiten.
